How to remove a double or ghost print?
For prolonged times of use, the motor can generate a backlash, giving way to an erroneous movement of the printing carriage, generating a double or ghost impression.
Backlash occurs when two mechanical parts do not fit perfectly, causing the transmission of movement to be interrupted when the drive element does not make contact with the transmission element of movement, in this case the pulley is disengaged from the motor.
The print looks double as seen in the following image:
To solve the above, it is necessary to check that the pulley is properly adjusted on the motor pinion, since if there is a backlash between the toothed belt and the motor, the impression will be irregular.
Additionally, it must be verified that the pinion is secured on the motor shaft, preventing it from losing the rotary movement produced by the motor.
