How to move the mirror screws of a laser system? / Daniel

Next, you will find an explanation on how to adjust the mirror screws to perform a successful calibration of the laser beam

The screws 1, 2 and 3 of the first and second mirrors can be moved in two ways,

 1. Simultaneously moving two screws

 2. Moving only the specific screw

To move the laser beam to the right

Right movement:  Move screw 2 in the right direction, (tight)

Right movement: move screws 1 and 3 in the left direction, (loose)

To move the laser beam to the left

Left movement:  Move screw 2 in the left direction, (loose)

Left movement: move screws 1 and 3 in the right direction, (tight)

To move up the laser beam

Up movement: move screws 1 in the left direction, (loose)

Up movement: move screw 2 and 3  in the right direction, (tight)

To move down the laser beam

Down movement: move screws 1 in the right direction, (tight)

Down movement: move screw 2 and 3 in the left direction, (loose)

To move  laser beam on the diagonals

Diagonal down movement: move button 3 in left t direction, (loose)

Diagonal Up movement: move button 3 in right direction, (tight)

Please note that the order of the screws, and the movements to calibrate the 3rd reflective mirror (located on the laser head) are different from the previous ones

The optical system consists of a laser tube, three reflective mirrors, an optical lens and, the laser head. The following diagram corresponds to the path of the laser beam:

The laser beam generated by the tube is reflected by three mirrors and is focused through an optical lens before coming into contact with the material. The purpose of laser alignment is to ensure that the laser beam path is correctly centered from the laser tube to its exit through the laser head nozzle

The laser path must be adjusted after maintenance and / or optics replacement. If not, the quality of the cut will be affected and may cause damage to the lens.
