To make the connection of our CO2 cutting and engraving equipment that
has a Ruida controller Board and a Mac computer with the Lightburn program, it
is done through the Ethernet connection
First method:
POINT-TO-POINT CONNECTION
THROUGH A NETWORK PATCH CORD WITH RJ45 CONNECTOR
To make the connection we must have an RJ45 port for Ethernet, otherwise
it can be done with a USB type C network adapter and a patch cord.
STEP 1
Connect one end of the UTP cable to the Ruida controller board in the
Ethernet connection and the other end to the Type-C network adapter or to the
RJ45 port connected to the MAC computer.
STEP 2
Enter the
controller board configuration on the operation panel and set the IP:
192.168.1.100
STEP 3
Enter the
Mac computer, open the network settings to see if it detects the Ethernet
network, it should change from red to green and it should be in status “connected”
STEP 4
If it detects that there is a network card and it detects the cable connected, the IPV4 configuration of “Using DHCP” must be changed
to “Manually” and the following values must be placed
IP Address:
192.168.1.1
Subnet
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Router:
192.168.1.100
And end
clic in “Apply”
Once the
Fixed IP address is configured, proceed to ping the machine's address to see if
there is a response. To do this, open the Terminal console and type ping 192.168.1.100 and press enter
STEP 6
Open the
Lightburn software and in the operation panel, click the "Devices"
button and open the your devices box
STEP 7
Clic “Create Manually”
STEP 9
Select Ethernet/UDP and clic Next
STEP 10
Put IP 192.168.1.100 then clic Next
STEP 11
Select the origin of the machine then clic Next
STEP 12
Set the working area of the machine and continue pressing the Next button
STEP 13
Finish the configuration by pressing the "Finish" button and then click "OK"
STEP 14
Once the configuration of the Ruida Board is finished, “ready” should appear and in Devices the name Ruida, and there is already a connection with the machine
STEP 15
To confirm if there is communication with the machine, you can change the file listing menu and press the "Refresh" button. To look at the files in the machine's memory
Download the files to the machine with the "Send" button and confirm that it was copied to memory clic "Refresh" again.
Second method:
CONNECTION THROUGH A WIRELESS ROUTER
In the case that you do not have a USB type C network adapter, you can make the connection with a wireless router
For this connection, you need a wireless router that allows you to route the Mac computer and the Ethernet connection of the Ruida Main Board.
STEP 1
Connect the Mac computer to the router through the Wi-Fi connection by entering the router password and username
STEP 2
Connect one end of the Patch cord network to the Ethernet connection of the Ruida Board and the other end to any LAN port of the router (not the internet input port) as shown in the following figure
STEP 3
Repeat the steps for the point-to-point connection from step 2 but changing the connection through WIFI in the network settings in the Macbook
